Gay played only 30 games in 2016-2017 due to injury, averaging 18.7 points per game. Moke Hamilton of Basketball Insiders wrote an interesting article about the prospect of Gay playing for these teams next season. We still don’t have a full picture of how the free agency market is going to be in 2017, but there things we know: Rudy Gay is going to opt out of his contract with the Sacramento Kings, and will be an interesting possibility for a lot of teams, including the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder.
